Tiger Woods Statement, Apology and the Media Frenzy Alleging Infidelity and Transgressions

According to ABC news (http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/tiger-woods-statement-read-apology-addressing-family-accident/story?id=9226683) Tiger released the following statement today his website:

I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.

Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect.

But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don't share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one's own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn't have to mean public confessions.

Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it's difficult.

I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

However upon visiting Tiger's website (http://web.tigerwoods.com/news/article/200911297726222/news/), Tiger's statement says:

As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I'm pretty sore.

This situation is my fault, and it's obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I'm human and I'm not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn't happen again.

This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.

The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.

This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can anyone find the link on Tiger's website where he allegedly and supposedly mentioned "regreting those transgressions" anywhere?

The tabloid US Magazine, never known to be a gospel source of truth in the past, has posted what they claim to be a voice mail of Tiger to Los Angeles cocktail waitress Jaimee Grubbs.

Half truths and mere speculation will have to wait until Tiger and Elin come forth with their own statements.

Meanwhile the media frenzy alleging infidelity continues, while dubious women sell their souls for dough.

Tim Tebow Success Secrets Leading Florida Gators to SEC and National Championships

Tim Tebow led the Florida Gators to another victory over FSU tonight in preparation for the national college football championship against #2 Alabama next week. Hebrews 12:1-2 written on Tebow's face beneath his eyes was misquoted then half quoted by the TV announcer.

First the TV announcer supposed the Scripture written on Tim's face was Hebrews 12:12, which he read following Tebow's 47 yard run, ended by a fumble when three to four defenders stripped the ball from him.

Hebrews 12:12 reads: "Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees."

However later the announcer backtracked and apologized realizing that the inscription under Tim's eyes was in fact Hebrews 12:1-2.

Shortly thereafter between plays he read Hebrews 12:1, which reads: "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which does so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us."

Yet verse 2 was never mentioned.

Therefore in justice in the great quarterback and leader on and off the gridiron Tim Tebow, who loves and serves the same God, I provide you the latter half of the Scripture he wanted you to know.

Hebrews 12:2 reads: "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has risen to set down at right hand of the throne of God."

Usually Tim in the past wore John 3:16 every game day since his junior year of college football. Undoubtedly the most often quoted Scripture worldwide, John 3:16 reads:

"God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Tim Tebow and coach Urban Meyer exemplify leadership with the utmost humility and love for their team, students and fans supporting the Florida Gators.

I'm always touched to hear both of these men speak. Toward the end of the game the announcer mentioned that coach Urban Meyer either had everyone of his senior football players who are graduating individually over to his house, or personally went to their home.

Coach Meyer often mentions the heart of the Gator players saying how "invested" they are in the athletic program. Undoubtedly coach Meyer loves his athletes and is equally invested in them and it shows in how hard they play when they get on the field.

Tim's parents and siblings are missionaries serving in the Philippines and Bangladesh respectively, no small undertaking indeed. I know because I've done missionary work overseas in impoverished nations and visited countries such as these throughout Asia.

Above and beyond Tim's SEC and national college football championships, his character and leadership is commendable. Undoubtedly Tim is a bright star shining forth the glory of God on and off the field, living an exemplary life worthy of us to follow as he follows Christ his Lord and Savior.

Breaking Addictions: Fighting Addictions with Divine Power to Revolutionize Your Mental and Physical Health

Upon glancing at a newspaper this week, I stumbled upon an article titled "How to Fight Addiction" that never talked about how to fight addiction. The article, written by William Moyers (Vice President of the Hazelden Foundation, one of the world's largest nonprofit addiction-treatment centers), unfortunately was concluded by saying, "There is still no cure for addiction--more research is needed. But there is a solution that includes personal responsibility."

While I agree with the personal responsibility behavioral component, that alone will not suffice when an addict is overwhelmed and overtaken by a controlling substance to which they have become chemically and neurologically addicted.

Psychologists and therapists often fail to acknowledge and mention the triune nature of mankind -- that is we are spirit, mind and body. Overcoming fleshly compulsions and tendencies require our minds to be renewed and are spirits awakened. If we only fight and battle the fleshly tendencies and pull on us mentally, we will sometimes cave and yield to the flesh.

Yet if our spirit is energized, awakened and activated to participate in the battle -- the common sense of our mental faculties combined with our quickened spirit within will outweigh the flesh and be able to overcome it.

Jesus Himself said: "The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak" (Matthew 26:41). Christ's prescription therefore was that we should pray so we don't fall prey to and get taken over by temptation.

The prophet Zechariah declared, "It's not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit saith the Lord" (Zechariah 4:6).

The apostle Paul acknowledged his "vile body" and fleshly weakness (Philippians 3:21), but said the key to overcoming the flesh is with the power of the Spirit.

"If you live after the flesh, you shall die: but if you through the Spirit do mortify (crucify) the deeds of the body, you shall live" (Romans 8:13).

"They that are after the flesh, do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. To be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace" (Romans 8:5-6).

Energy flows where focus goes.

Most addicts are so engrossed in their addiction physically that when therapists and psychologists tell them mentally to fight it, they become overwhelmed by the whole process and further enamored with the very substance they are trying to resist.

It is no different with sin. If you continually behold and focus on something, eventually it is likely you will give in and attend to it.

Therefore the way to freedom is to focus on something else and live purposefully by arousing your mind and spirit to attend to something more meaningful and fulfilling.

We become what we behold. Therefore lift up your eyes to heaven where your help comes from! Upon looking upon our Creator and Lifegiver above, we will be filled afresh with His life and love to thereby love ourselves sufficently to break free from substances unnecessarily entangling and dwarfing our lives.

"Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." (2Corinthians 3:17-18)

This is why taking responsibility is not enough. Because if you put an addict in a room with other addicts desirous of "taking responsibility" and humbly acknowledging their addiction, they all still sit there bound beholding one another. Beholding a room full of addicts may make you feel responsible, but it does not liberate your spirit and soul.

You must lift up your eyes and reposition your focus. Otherwise freedom will never come as long as you continue to behold your bondage and sit in a room with the bound.

The apostle Paul acknowledged his frail and pitiful state in the flesh saying, "O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from this body of death?" (Romans 7:24)

His revelation which led to his great deliverance and liberation - I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. (verse 25)

Jesus was a "child of the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 1:18).

When we therefore connect with Christ and "live in the Spirit" the constraints of the flesh can be broken and our lives freed.

"Walk in the Spirit and you shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh" (Galatians 5:16).

Herein is the addict's solution, deliverance and liberation.

Prayer for freedom from addiction. Fall to your knees and pray out loud:

"Wonderful Jesus, thank you for dying for me so I can live free! Forgive me for my sin and dishonoring my body. I believe You rose victorious over sin, death, hell and the grave Jesus. Now come mightily and deliver me from this torment of addiction. Fill me to overflowing with your blessed Holy Spirit so I can experience liberation, become a new creation and fulfill my purpose powerfully for your glory. Reverse the curse for me and help me live in liberty. Come Lord Jesus and reign in me giving me newness of life. Amen."

If you prayed that prayer, please write and tell me.

Alex Rodriguez Spirituality: A-Rod and God

Alex Rodriguez spirituality and newfound single life after divorcing his wife has brought him to a new season of exploration.

Having been through a painful divorce myself, I know what it is like to go through times of personal discovery and a deeper search for significance.

Connecting with your Creator is a wonderful place to start. My only concern for Alex is he seems to be a bit easily influenced in his spirituality by the women in his life.

Apparently it was alleged Alex and Madonna were said to be "soulmates" based on letters and exchanges referencing wherein "the material girl's" kabbalah leanings were rubbing off on A-Rod.

Now that Alex is dating Kate Hudson however it seems her Buddhist tendencies are the order of the day for Mr. Rodriguez when it comes to spirituality.

I like A-Rod and upon hearing him speak during the World Series, sensed humility of heart as he honored and mentioned his teammates and what a "blessing" they were.

I truly believe Alex is en route to a spiritual breakthrough and discovering the power of the resurrection in Jesus Christ. Thereafter Alex will be break forth into a new level of manhood with a profound impartation and divine DNA, a supernatural and spontaneous spirituality which I predict will quiet the inner storms and awaken the prophetic in him to speak and live with added power, poise and influence off the field!

Get ready Mr. Rodriguez! You're in God's radar and are marked for a great awakening and spiritual breakthrough!

I sincerely hope Alex transcends all troublesome circumstances as he transitions in his family, connects with his Creator in a powerful way and realizes his dreams inwardly and outwardly.

Alex truly is a gifted man who like us all is still evolving fully and becoming all that God has for him.

As long as A-Rod remains humble and continues pursuing God from the heart, all of the religion and detours along the way will eventually be hurdled over and removed as the Spirit of God leads Alex to newness of life.

Alex Rodriguez and Kate Hudson at American Music Awards

We enjoyed the upbeat New York song and the many incredible stage performances and visual effects.

However I was a bit surprised to see Kate Hudson struggling to hold her dress on. You'd think a movie star could afford a form fitting dress that would at least stay on her body.

Standing next to Nicole Kidman, Kate looked very nervous and fidgety. Nicole was dressed more elegant and classy, whereas Kate was trying to show something while struggling to keep her dress on.

This pic of Kate and Alex Rodriguez on celebrity gossip almost looks as if A-Rod is saying, "You didn't tell me you weren't going to wear a bra!"

www.celebrity-gossip.net/events_gallery2/image_full/220643/

I guess A-Rod's ex-wife need not feel jealous or outshined by Kate.
